About Suzanne

Suzanne was born and raised in Missouri, and earned a BA in Art in 1968. She  recently retired as a public school art teacher, where she received a grant for artist/educators in 2000 from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation to further her work in egg tempera painting. In 1989 she began studying iconography with the Rev. John Walsted a master iconographer and expert on 14th-16th century Russian icons. Suzanne has taken additional workshops with Robert Lentz, The Prosopon School of Iconology and Fred Wessel. Her work has been published in Episcopal Life, in a number of online exhibits with the Episcopal Church and Visual Arts (ECVA), as well as at the 2006 General Convention of the Episcopal Church.

Her icons have been displayed at Princeton Theological Seminary and at Trinity Cathedral Trenton NJ and her icons hang in numerous churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania as  well as private homes. Suzanne has taught workshops in icon painting at Kanuga Conferences since 2005, and at several Episcopal parishes on the east coast including St. Stephen's Richmond VA and Trinity wall St.

Suzanne is a parishioner of Christ Church , Toms River,  NJ an associate of the Community of St. Mary in Greenwich NY and resident of Whiting New Jersey.
